TVS Motor Company has announced a strategic partnership with Tamil Nadu-based mobility startup OOR Cabs to deploy 500 electric three-wheelers across key cities in the state.

The companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday, May 22, under which TVS will supply its electric three-wheeler model, the TVS King EV MAX, to OOR Cabs in FY2025-26. The first batch of 10 vehicles was handed over in Trichy, with an additional 10 units scheduled for delivery in June. The rollout will begin in Trichy and later expand to Madurai and Coimbatore.

The TVS King EV MAX will feature a range of 179 km, SmartXonnect Bluetooth integration, quick-charging capability, and ergonomic design. For this partnership, the company said in an exchange release that the vehicles have been customised to enhance passenger comfort, featuring thermal insulation, drinking water, and mobile charging ports.

OOR Cabs, which has been gaining traction in Trichy with its community-based operations and EV-first fleet, plans to scale up gradually by adding 20-30 electric autos each month. The company allows bookings via WhatsApp and focuses on empowering both male and female driver-partners in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

The shares of TVS ended over 1% in the green on Thursday.  The stock has gained 16.5% in 2025 so far.
