Shares of the defence PSU- Navratna in Friday's trade (May 30, 2025) traded with a cut of 6.44 per cent at Rs 3,507.8 per share. At the day's low, the stock plunged as much as 8 per cent to Rs 3,450 apiece.
The stock price plummeted following the defence company's March quarter results.
Net profit of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders during the March quarter tumbled 50.93 per cent to Rs 325.29 crore as against Rs 662.97 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2024. Sales rose 2.28 per cent to Rs 3174.41 crore in the quarter ended March 2025 as against Rs 3103.65 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2024.
For the full year,net profit rose 24.60 per cent to Rs 2413.51 crore in the year ended March 2025 as against Rs 1936.97 crore during the previous year ended March 2024. Sales rose 20.76 per cent to Rs 11431.88 crore in the year ended March 2025 as against Rs 9466.58 crore during the previous year ended March 2024.
The company's presentation pointed that the company highest ever-yearly revenue from operations at Rs 11,431.88 crore, while the net profit was at Rs 2,324.88 crore.
As of the March quarter, the company's total order book was at Rs 32,260 crore.
First Interim Dividend declared and paid by MDL for FY 2024-25; Rs.467.72 crore i.e. Rs.23.19 per share (on face value Rs.10), which is the highest ever. Second interim dividend for the FY 2024-25, amounting to Rs.121.02 crore this equates to a payout of Rs.3 per share (on face value Rs.5).
Shares of the company have delivered multibagger returns in the last one year with a return of 113 per cent, while its 3-year return is at 2,372 per cent.
